🦸♀️ Planning Isn’t Easy… but She Did It
Planning an itinerary that works for everyone in the family?
That’s basically a superpower.
So here’s a heartfelt shoutout to the real MVP of this trip — the Wonder Woman of our family who somehow pulled it all together.
Coordinating flights, bookings, accommodations, keeping meals in check (and making sure we don’t kill each other mid-trip)… it’s no small feat.
Especially when you have a mix of personalities and preferences — from the one who wants to relax at every café, to the other who insists on walking 20,000 steps just to “explore.”
😅 Different Interests, One Family.
One of the biggest challenges (and biggest laughs) of our trip was trying to find activities that appealed to everyone.
Let’s be honest — someone’s always just “not that interested.” <Hint: Refering to the boys in the family.>
And that’s okay. Because sometimes, the best memories aren’t the ones you plan for…
📸 The Photo Booth Surprise
One completely unplanned activity turned out to be one of the most memorable: Photo booths.
Yep — the simple kind you’d usually walk past at a mall. But in Korea, they’re on a whole new level.
Here’s what we discovered:
- There’s a surprisingly wide range of booth styles — from top-angle shoots to full-body wide shots.
- Some booths even generate a QR code after your session, linking to a video of your group while you’re posing!
- We started out awkward — standing there not knowing what to do with our hands…
- But after a few tries, we found our rhythm — from standard poses to hilarious, over-the-top expressions.
By the end of it, we were genuinely laughing, and everyone let loose.
What made it extra special?

Our daughter later compiled all the videos into a collage — one of those sweet, thoughtful gestures that really tied the memory together.
🛍️ Unexpected Purchases We All Agreed On
Surprisingly, the trip included 3 items that everyone in the family unanimously agreed to buy — and even bought one each:
- Cooling Blankets
- Soft, breathable, and perfect for our climate
- We found multiple shops selling them, and most assistants spoke good English
- Best part? They ship overseas — so no need to worry about luggage space
- Bonus: If we need more in the future, online ordering is available
- Pyjamas from SPAO
- Wide range of designs, fun patterns for everyone
- Affordable and comfy — a win for both kids and adults
- Everyone walked away with at least one set!
- Caricature Paintings in Myeongdong
- Got ours drawn on the spot — fast, funny, and well-done
- Chose the package: printed on a mug and framed artwork
- Now our customised mugs are part of our daily routine — it’s like sipping memories every morning
🧭 A Different Kind of Travel Reflection
Most people come back from a trip and talk about:
- The scenery they saw
- The food they tasted
- The places they visited
But for me? This trip stood out because of the little moments —The shared laughter inside a photo booth, the group consensus over blankets and pyjamas, the small gesture of a video collage.
Because who says we all need to experience travel the same way?
Sometimes, travel isn’t about ticking off landmarks.
It’s about the moments we carry home — the ones that don’t need a filter to be remembered.
