🏃‍♂️ My Weekend School Event at Jurong Lake Gardens – A Run to Remember

Last Saturday, I had a very special school event at Jurong Lake Gardens. My mother woke me up early and sent me there before the sun had fully risen. It was still cool and quiet when I arrived — the perfect morning to spend outdoors.

When I reached the park, I met up with my friends. We chatted while slowly walking toward the assembly area. Soon, all of us were lined up neatly according to our CCA groups. The teachers and instructors were busy preparing for the big run ahead.

While we waited for the event to begin, my friend challenged me to a 1v1 match in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). I gave it my best shot, but he completely destroyed me — quite badly, actually! Still, we laughed it off and had fun while passing the time.

After that, we did some light stretching and continued chatting as we waited for our turn to run. I was starting to feel a little nervous but also excited. When the race finally began, I pushed off quickly and managed to hold a place in the top 10 for a while.

But as we got further into the race, a few runners suddenly sprinted past me with crazy speed! I didn’t panic or try to chase — I just kept to my own pace. Eventually, the top 10 were far ahead, but I didn’t give up. I ran steadily all the way to the finish line.

After the run, everyone was given Milo, water, and bread. It tasted extra good after all that effort! Even though I didn’t win any medal or place, I felt proud of myself for completing the race.

More importantly, this wasn’t just any race — it was a charity run. Every person who joined added to the total number of participants, and together, our efforts helped donate 105 tents to those in need. That made me feel like I was part of something meaningful.

🏅 Final Thoughts

Even without a trophy, this weekend event became a memory I won’t forget. I got to hang out with friends, play games, test my limits, and contribute to a good cause — all in one day. And now I can say that I helped build 105 tents just by running!
