Going to Korea was one of the most exciting trips I’ve ever had. From thrilling rides to hilarious games and jaw-dropping food, it was non-stop fun. Everything felt different from home in Singapore — in a good way!

This blog post is all about the moments I loved most. If you’re planning a family trip to Korea, here’s why I think kids (and grown-ups too!) will enjoy every second of it.

🎢 The T-Express at Everland: Best Ride Ever

Let’s start with the ride that blew my mind: the T-Express, the massive wooden roller coaster at Everland. It’s the fastest, scariest, and most fun ride I’ve ever been on.

At first, I thought, “How fast can a wooden coaster be?” But once we started moving, it was crazy fast. The first drop was so steep it felt like my heart stayed behind at the top. My hair flew everywhere and I was screaming and laughing at the same time.

Even though I was nervous before getting on, it turned out to be the highlight of the trip. I would ride it again in a heartbeat!

🍢 Korean Street Food: A Tasty Adventure

One thing I noticed quickly in Korea: street food is everywhere. And not just one or two stalls — there are whole streets filled with food carts offering so many different things.

From spicy tteokbokki (rice cakes), sweet hotteok pancakes, grilled skewers, giant corndogs, to fish cake soup, it was like a never-ending buffet. And the best part? You could eat while walking!

In Singapore, we have food courts, but no street food scene like this. I loved trying new snacks every day. My favorite was the fried cheese stick covered in sugar and ketchup — weird combo, but it works!

For kids who love snacks, Korea is food paradise.

☕ Coffee the Size of My Head?! The Venti Surprise

One of the funniest moments happened when my mum ordered a Venti coffee at a Starbucks in Seoul. She thought it would be the same size as what we get in Singapore.

But when the drink came… it was huge. Like, bigger than my hand huge! Mum looked so confused and said, “This isn’t what I expected.” We all burst out laughing.

I held it up and it looked like I was holding a mini bucket of coffee. Even Mum couldn’t finish it. Now every time she orders coffee, I ask, “Are you sure it’s not a Korea Venti?”

🏃‍♂️ Running Man Experience: Real-Life Game Fun

If you’ve ever watched the Korean show Running Man, you’ll know it’s full of games, missions, and lots of running. We got to try the Running Man Themed Experience, and it felt like we stepped into the show!

We wore special wristbands and ran from room to room completing missions. Some were physical, some needed teamwork, and others tested our memory. My dad tried to beat my score — but I think I still won 😎.

It was the perfect place for families to bond while being silly. Lots of laughter, lots of energy, and tons of fun.

🔐 Escape Room “Kikikiki” – The Mystery of Keys

One of the coolest and funniest parts of the trip was the escape room. We chose a themed mystery room called “Kikikiki” — the name itself made us laugh before we even went in.

The whole room was themed around keys, with the story built around a playful rhyme that gave us clues. Some clues were tricky, some were super obvious — but we still missed them! At one point, we spent 10 minutes looking for a key… that was hanging right next to the puzzle box. 😅

We kept saying “Kikikiki!” every time we realized something had been right in front of us the whole time. It became our family’s joke of the trip. Even now, when someone misses something obvious, we just say: “Kikikiki~”

The escape room was a great mix of fun, teamwork, and brainpower. Highly recommend it for families traveling with older kids who like puzzles and mysteries!

✈️ What Made This Korea Trip So Special for Me

There were so many cool things to do in Korea, but what made it really special was doing it all with my family. We laughed a lot, tried new things together, and even got lost a few times — but those moments turned into stories.

Things I’ll never forget:

  • The feeling of flying down the Everland coaster
  • The taste of crispy street snacks on a cold day
  • Holding a coffee cup the size of my face
  • Running and laughing through challenges like in a video game
  • Solving (and failing to solve) puzzles in the Kikikiki room

These moments aren’t just memories — they’re family stories that we’ll laugh about for years.

🔍 Tips for Other Kids (and Families) Visiting Korea

  • Wear comfortable shoes – You’ll walk and run a lot!
  • Try all the food – Even if it looks weird, you might like it.
  • Bring a sense of humor – Things might go wrong, but that’s part of the fun.
  • Keep an open mind – Escape rooms and new rides might surprise you.
  • Take funny photos – Giant coffee cups, silly signs, food that’s bigger than your face… take the pic!

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re planning your first family trip to Korea or looking for new adventures as a parent, I hope this gives you a glimpse into how much fun you can have — especially when seen through a kid’s eyes.

From wild rides to wacky moments, Korea gave me stories I’ll be telling for a long time.
